I haven't had much time or inspiration to fashion blog lately, but I've decided instead to list just some of the outfits my boys have had to wear in the last two weeks:
1. Shorts and T-shirts.
2. Winter coats and gloves.
3. Charlie Bucket from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory costume prepared morning of fourth-grade Fictional Character Day. Outfit included: blue sweater, baseball pants, soccer socks, dress shoes, and a cardboard Wonka Bar commissioned by fourth grader and made by second grader (and myself.)
4. Crazy Hair Day, Wacky Hat Day, Pajama Day, and Costume Day outfits for 3 year-old's Jewish preschool class Purim celebration. (Okay, I'll admit publicly that we forgot pajama day. But he did the rest.)
5. Ski pants (actually track pants 2 sizes too small for 10 yr-old's spontaneous weekend ski trip with buddies. Say, WHAT?)
6. Shirt with no pants for Kamakase potty training mission. (Doctor's appointment went just swimmingly until doctor said toddler had to pee in a cup. Sat on floor of doctor's office for 45 minutes promising away just about everything I own--no luck. Took cup home. Still have kid. Still have cup. No idea how to get pee in cup.)
7. Fireman on top (see number 4) no pants on bottom (see number 6) for 3 year-old's Purim stripper look.
8. Seven year-old with shirt and no pants to demonstrate peeing in cup. (This included an offer to pee FOR the toddler Armstrong Style, but we decided against it.)
8. Seven year-old's farmer costume for Purim.
9. 10 year-old's "I'm not dressing up I'm just wearing synagogue clothes and a funny hat" costume for Purim.
10. Dress shirt, dress pants, dress shoes, belt, dark socks, and silly hat for #9.
("Oh, and by the way, I need Kosher, nut-free, easy to chew, not chocolate candy for a Mitzvah project tomorrow.")
11. Two full basketball uniforms for last two games of season. (Included a last-minute argument over who got the "good" shorts and flourescent green socks for playoffs.)
12. Soccer uniform for last indoor practice of season--included unmatched socks and unmatched shin guards since soccer stuff was officially "cleaned up" for 3 yr-old's birthday party.
13. Uncovering two full baseball uniforms with hats, shirts, pants, socks, and cleats to respond to email about whether we still have last season's uniforms. Ditto for soccer.
14. School clothes for temperatures ranging from 0 to 60. (And tossing out any underwear the big boys thought the 3 year-old "tried on.")
15. Now we're leaving soon for Spring Break in Florida! I can't wait. It's just a matter of locating summer clothes for 5 while digging out of the snow. . .
